Hunting & Fishing
In addition to hunting and fishing, a 12-station Sporting Clay Course is available directly behind the lodge complex. Located in Historic Grimes County, the Lodge at Moody Ranch offers simple country-style accommodations for up to 22 people in a relaxing atmosphere, complete with the pleasant aroma of the best southern cooking you may ever eat!
For over 135 years the Moody Family has enjoyed the thrilling challenge of fair-chase hunting and fishing on our ranch in the Navasota River Bottom and would like to offer you the same opportunity. Breakaway from the day-to-day grind of busy city stress and come back to nature at Moody Ranch Outfitters, where you can take a break and relax. One of the best qualities of Moody Ranch Outfitters is our convenient location.

Moody Ranch Outfitters offers both Buck Hunts and Doe Hunts. We are an MLDP program and therefore you will shoot with our tags, which means you will need to have a valid Texas Hunting License and have the Hunter’s Education requirement. You will not use a tag from your license.
Moody Ranch Outfitters offers 1/2 day bass fishing trip excursions. Your fishing trip includes your guide fees, and a drink box of bottled water on board while fishing, but does not include gratuities for your guide We do not allow personal boats on our waters.
Come join us for a Hog Hunt here at Moody Ranch Outfitters. Below are our Hog Hunts with brief descriptions of each of them. Our ranch is low fenced and there are no guarantees or refunds if you do not shoot a hog. Texas no longer requires a hunting license to shoot hogs on private property but you must still fill the requirements of Hunters Education.
Moody Ranch Outfitters offers two-day Gator Hunts April 1st - June 30 each year. You can extend your Gator Hunt for additional days if you wish upon booking.
Moody Ranch Outfitters offers Texas Duck hunts on 5,000 acres along the Navasota River Bottom, near Navasota, Texas. You can Duck Hunt in a range of environments such as Flooded Timber, Waterfowl Projects, Flooded River btoom, and even some great private lakes located on the ranch. All of our Membership Duck Hunts come with a Big Country Breakfast after your hunt at the lodge!
